Trackside mechanical support in Kent — your car, our attention.

More than a paddock shelter. We provide pre-session brake and tyre inspections, post-session brake-temperature readings, coolant-system temperature checks, tyre-pressure and fluid monitoring, minor mechanical assistance and an end-of-day condition report. Bring your own car; we bring the tools, support and setup.

BEFORE THE TRACK DAY

Want the car checked before you arrive at the circuit?

Our mobile pre-track-day inspection is available across Kent from £120 plus applicable travel.

THE AFILÉON TRACKSIDE STANDARD

Inspected before. Temperatures checked between. Recorded afterwards.

Dedicated hands-on paddock support for your own car: wear measurements, brake and coolant temperature checks, tyre and wheel care, small mechanical jobs and a written condition report. A weatherproof shelter, hot tea and coffee, soft drinks and snacks come as standard.

01 / ARRIVAL

Before your first session

Where the car, access, timing and equipment allow: safely raise the car, remove the road wheels and inspect disc condition, pad friction material, calipers and visible hoses. Record accessible inner and outer pad thicknesses by wheel in millimetres. On grooved tyres, use a suitable gauge to record inner, centre and outer tread-depth readings (mm) at each wheel, alongside starting pressures, fluid levels and visible defects. On slicks, record applicable wear-indicator readings instead, if measurable. Drum brakes receive external or inspection-port checks; drums are not routinely removed.

02 / ON TRACK

Between-session checks and temperatures

After track sessions, take safe, consistent brake-disc temperature spot readings and check coolant-system temperatures using available vehicle instrumentation/diagnostics or suitable external measurement, clearly recording the method. External surface temperatures are not direct internal coolant readings, and post-session brake readings are not peak on-track temperatures. We also adjust tyre pressures, inspect wheels and visible conditions, observe fluid levels, carry out practical minor adjustments and investigate straightforward faults. Any fluid top-ups are recorded; consumables are extra with approval. Drivers should promptly report unusual noises, braking changes, impacts and warning lights.

03 / FINAL CHECK

Before you leave

After the last supported session and sufficient brake cooling, repeat accessible wheel-off brake-pad measurements where safely practical. Compare left and right, inner and outer, and pre-/post-session readings. Recheck inner, centre and outer tyre tread depths (or suitable slick wear indicators) at the same measurement locations, and document left/right wear, uneven shoulder wear, any tyre swaps and measurement limitations. Record observations, faults, fluid changes and any recommended follow-up in an end-of-day condition report. Include available brake and coolant-system temperature readings and the measurement method in the end-of-day report.

Included paddock facilities

Heavy-duty enclosed car shelter (roof, walls and door) where the organiser authorises it, safe space is available and weather permits. Complimentary hot tea and coffee, soft drinks and snacks are provided. The shelter is a temporary paddock workspace, not a guaranteed permanent circuit garage.

Optional fuel collection — arranged in advance

Fuel and any related costs are not included in the package price. Where available, we can discuss obtaining suitable fuel using a customer-funded, agreed allowance after cleared funds are confirmed and a safe, compliant collection and refuelling arrangement is approved. We do not take possession of customers' bank cards or automatically charge their booking cards. Ask before booking; this is not a live checkout add-on.

How detailed are the measurements? Pad thickness refers to friction material only (not the backing plate). Tyre tread measurements are taken with a suitable depth gauge at comparable inner, centre and outer points on grooved tyres; slicks may use manufacturer-provided wear indicators, not invented groove depths. We measure comparable, accessible points with suitable tools and report only differences reliably greater than the tool's resolution. If pads, drum linings or tyre measurements cannot be checked reliably, the report states not measured or not inspected as applicable, rather than guessing. A tyre that has been swapped or replaced cannot be directly compared at the old wheel position. Findings are observations at the time, not a safety, roadworthiness or competition-eligibility certificate. The initial inspection must be completed before circuit use; final wheel-off checks require sufficient time within the booked support period. Discuss the detailed before-and-after inspection when booking half-day support. Temperature measurements are condition spot checks only and should be read alongside the car’s own instruments, circumstances and manufacturer guidance; they do not certify safe track use.

Frequently asked questions

Useful answers before you book.

Clear answers based on the service as currently published.

What does track-day support include?

Pre-session brake and tyre measurements, brake-disc and coolant-system temperature checks, tyre pressures, wheel and fluid observations, wheel-change help, minor mechanical assistance, practical fault finding and an end-of-day report. The shelter and paddock hospitality (hot tea and coffee, soft drinks and snacks) come with every booking, subject to circuit conditions.

Which Kent circuits do you support?

Standard packages are published for Brands Hatch and Lydden Hill. Selected other circuits can be considered by tailored quote.

Do I bring my own car?

Yes. The track-day support service is for a customer’s own vehicle. If you need a supplied car, Afiléon Motorsport also offers a separate supported BMW E46 arrive-and-drive package.

Are parts, tyres, fuel or major repairs included?

No. The standard support package covers the stated paddock support. Parts, tyres, fuel, major repairs and fabrication are additional unless they are specifically included in a written quote.

What is recorded before and after a track day?

At arrival we record accessible brake-pad friction thickness and tyre tread depth by wheel (inner, centre, outer for grooved tyres). After the last supported session, we repeat comparable measurements when safe, documenting wear by tyre position, any uneven wear, limitations and recommended follow-up. Slick tyres are assessed by suitable wear indicators where available. Temperature spot checks and how they were measured are also logged where readings can be obtained safely.

Do you check brake and coolant temperatures?

Yes. We take brake-disc temperature spot checks after sessions and check coolant-system temperatures using the car’s available instruments or appropriate external methods. We record the method and any limitations: surface temperatures differ from internal coolant temperature, and readings taken after a session are not the same as peak on-track temperatures.

Is a paddock shelter provided?

We bring our heavy-duty enclosed car shelter where the circuit permits its use, a safe location is available and conditions allow. Complimentary hot tea and coffee, soft drinks and snacks are included.

Can you collect extra fuel?

Only by prior agreement. Fuel and related costs are separate, a suitable customer-funded payment arrangement must be confirmed before purchase, and collection depends on safe transport, storage and organiser rules. This is not currently an automatic checkout option.

Car collection and return available

Need your car brought to the circuit as well?

Our Track-Day Support and Transport option includes collection from your chosen address, transport to the circuit, trackside support and return delivery, all coordinated for the same date. Vehicle suitability and transport charges are confirmed by quotation.
